## Try Before You Gig

Before you book a spot, go and watch a night at the room. You will learn the crowd, the vibe, how the MC runs it and what material lands — so when you do get up, you are not guessing. Comedians who scout a venue first bomb less and get asked back more.

I've not done it but from what I hear it's brutal. I don't know how long you've been going but I wouldn't do it as one of your first gigs.

I lasted around a minute. But it was a horrendous experience. I will never try it again! I'll stick to normal open mics.
