I keep thinking the valuable bit of a course should be the feedback you couldn’t easily give yourself. But “good feedback” can mean anything from line-by-line notes to one big observation about how you perform. If you were paying for stand-up training, what would you want the tutor to actually do with your material — diagnose why a bit isn’t landing, suggest exercises, challenge the premise, give performance notes, something else? And what would feel too prescriptive?
